SARONIC GULF
POROS
Poros is a small island of the Saronic gulf in close proximity to Athens and Peloponnesus, suitable for family retreats, with its main attractions to be, the city of Poros which has been declared a traditional settlement since 1993, the archaeological museum at Korizi square which houses findings from the temple of Poseidon which is located on the northern side of the island and is open to visit. The best area for someone to visit by boat are the beaches on the Russian Naval Base, with turquoise waters and small bays, is the ideal spot for swimming and relaxation under the sun.
HYDRA
The island of Hidra is one of the few which have been declared as preserved settlements. A special characteristic of this island is that no cars or motorbikes are allowed whatsoever, the people who want to explore the city of Hidra, which is the only town of the island, can do it either by foot or with donkeys and gaze upon the old villas of the island as well as some of the 300 churches and the 5 monasteries. The cosmopolitan vibes of the city and its nightlife are definitely goods reasons for visiting.
SPETSES
The island of the spices as the Venetians used to call it “Isola di Spezzie” is the aristocratic island with the villas and the significant importance to the Greek revolution. Despite its close proximity to Athens the island will take you back in time to the era of 1821 and the liberation struggle of the Greeks, with a walk of the promenade and a visit to the town of Kounoupitsa.
CYCLADES
SANTORINI
Perhaps the most famous island of Greece, with its picturesque towns on the edge of the cliffs and the most wonderful sunset. A treasure which you have to explore, taste the fine wine and swim in volcanic made beaches with black sand. Enjoy the small alleys of the white houses with the blue doors and windows. A majestic destination for those who wish to get to know the Greek islands in their best form.
MYKONOS
The most exclusive island of the Aegean and meeting spot of the rich and famous from all around the world. Mykonos can satisfy the needs and wishes even the most demanding travellers. The island of the winds, famous for its windmills is an endless paradise of parties, great food and sandy beaches. Suitable for those who want a traditional sent as well as a funky night. With famous beaches like Super Paradise where the party goes on 24/7, as well as peaceful bays for more relaxed and family like modes, this island is the best choice for all ages.
TINOS
The sacred island of Greece is a few hours away from Athens. At Tinos the church of Panagia Evangelistria dominates over the houses at the top of the city, a place of worship and homage for thousands of orthodox Christians, with the miraculous icon of Virgin Mary the island celebrates every year on the 15th of August the Dormition of the Virgin Mary. Beside the tenths of churches and the 80 windmills of the island, the visitor can also visit the folk museum of the craft school where they still teach the textile techniques since 1989.
MILOS
The sacred island of Greece is a few hours away from Athens. ANDROS
An island with a great influence to the maritime industry of Greece as it’s the place many of the Greek ship-owners call home. An important sightseen is the fortress of the city and Sarisa spring, well known for her thermal waters and healing properties.
KEA
This quiet island of Cyclades offers serene and majestic scenery where you can walk, as well as a plethora of water sports. Due to the favourable winds and the close proximity to the east shores of Attica, the island is many times used as the start point of many sailing races, also, it is used as a nice stop by people who don’t want to go very far from Athens.
PAROS
A special island where every year a unique site is being seen from May until July and again at September, where at the forest of the village called Paroikia, thousands of butterflies meet.
SYROS
Ideal place for families who want peace and quiet as well as good food. Famous for its Turkish delights or loukoumi as it is called, its aristocratic architecture and strong Catholic element.
NAXOS
An island well known for its ancient door and many more. With wonderful beaches and the area of Mikros Mistras where many of its churches are dated back from the 6th till the 14th centuries AD.
